Job Description
Located in Westminster, Maryland, Knorr Brake Company (KBC) is a manufacturer of Braking, Door, and HVAC systems for the Mass Transit Rail Industry. KBC is division of Knorr-Bremse, AG a Munich Germany based global leader in the design and manufacture of Brakes, Doors, HVAC, and on-Board OEM systems, aftermarket spare parts, overhaul & maintenance services for the Mass Transit Rail.
We are currently seeking Regional Planning Specialist. This person manages plans, directs and coordinates regional mid and long term planning activities for the Americas (project planning, mid and long term sales demand, production and purchasing planning) to ensure that planning is completed accurately and on time.
The major responsibilities for this position are:
Maintain data accuracy for sales demand planning and production and purchasing planning processes. Perform content verification, analysis and compile monthly reports for management.
Coordinate and support Sales, Production and Purchasing organization to provide required details for demand, budget and capacity planning.
Conduct market and sales analysis for business planning and development in Americas (mainly USA, Canada, Brazil) as well as AD-HOC analysis and support as required.
Collaborate with relevant business units to optimize supply chain excellence
Support continuous improvement of planning tools and processes in close cooperation with the Global Planning Team. Further implement planning processes and tools, provide training and user support. Administer relevant planning tools and process, mainly in SAP
Consolidate Market and Sales data for strategic planning in accordance with company guidelines.
Process oriented, with creative writing and proposal skills. Must be a self-starter, successful at getting cooperation from peers and good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills. Must be proficient in computer spreadsheets (Excel), and word processing. Must have the ability to handle many issues simultaneously and meet deadlines. Work independently and in a team. Basic knowledge in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering preferable.
Basic knowledge of sales, logistics, and planning processes.
Must have good business sense.

Must have very good data management and analytical skills, and solid experience using planning/analytical tools and applications.
Must understand and practice good organization and configuration management skills.
Must be able to read a large volume of material and ascertain the salient points.
Ability to travel within the US, Canada, Brazil and Germany. Ability to speak German is a plus.
